  • Prepare appropriate plans and take preventive measures to try to prevent or reduce the impact of a crisis or disaster at the time of its occurrence.

  • Preparing to deal with the crisis or disaster by training personnel, maintaining equipment and holding training workshops in order to raise the level of efficiency of the faculty staff.

  • Spreading awareness of crisis and disaster management within the college.

  • Developing monitoring and early warning mechanisms and preparing a crisis management operations room.

2- The stage of confrontation and containment (during the crisis):

  • Calling the competent crisis management team according to the type of event.

  • Implementing scenarios and plans that were previously developed and trained on them before the crisis.

  • Carrying out the necessary relief work according to the type of crisis or disaster.
  • Activate emergency services when necessary.

  • Carry out the evacuation of the site when necessary.

  • Follow up on the event, find out the latest developments, assess the situation, and determine the actions required to be taken through the operating room.

3- The post-crisis stage (the equilibrium stage):

  • Counting the losses in lives and facilities.

  • Rehabilitation and reconstruction (the resumption stage).

  • Evaluate the measures taken to deal with the disaster during the confrontation, response and containment phase, and draw up lessons learned.

  • Documenting the event, providing the necessary recommendations and proposals, and directing them to the concerned authorities to benefit from them in order to avoid future negatives (if any), and to develop and update plans in accordance with developments for better management.
