Organizing a workshop entitled “Curriculum Description (Applied Cases)” today at Tanta Faculty of Commerce

The Quality Assurance Unit, in cooperation with the Training Unit at the Faculty of Commerce, Tanta University, organized today a workshop entitled Course Description (Applied Cases) for faculty members and assistants at the faculty, in the presence of Prof. Dr. Yasser Al-Jarf, Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Dr. Hani Mahariq, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, Prof. Dr. Khaled Ibrahim, Director of the Quality Assurance Unit, Dr. Maysa Ali, Director of the Training Unit at the Faculty, and a number of faculty members and assistants at the Faculty at 10:00 am in the conference hall at the Faculty.

Prof. Dr. Mohamed Shehata Khattab, Professor of Cost Accounting at the Faculty, lectured at the workshop. The workshop included a presentation of the concept of course description as a constitution between the professor and the student that the student must be informed of at the beginning of the study.

It also addressed the relationship between the course description and the program description and the program report, a review of the learning outcomes (ILOS) that the course aims to achieve, and the components of the course description model according to Model 12 for course description issued by the National Authority for Accreditation and Quality Assurance.

The workshop also included practical examples of how to complete Form 12 to describe two courses, in addition to how to prepare the matrices attached to the description of each course. The workshop concluded with important recommendations, including the need to use specific verbs when determining the learning outcomes of each course and taking into account the program description when describing courses.
